Chapter 01

In the Show Ring

Championship credentials are not marketing claims. They are outcomes from independent judges evaluating each dog against the AKC breed standard in the ring. Every titled dog in the Apexx Akitas program earned that title in competition. Here is Grand Champion Asa, our foundation sire, competing at Westminster.

Chapter 02

Male-on-Male Temperament Proof

The internet says two male American Akitas cannot coexist. It is one of the most persistent myths about the breed. Both videos below show the actual outcome of 20+ years of breeding for stable temperament: two Apexx Akitas males, Grand Champion Asa and Champion Ash, running together in the snow, calm and collaborative. This is what stable male-on-male temperament looks like when the breeder selects for it across generations.

Chapter 03

The Breed In Its Element

The American Akita was developed in northern Japan for cold, snowy, mountainous conditions. Everything about the breed's dense double coat, heavy bone, and cold-weather metabolism was engineered for exactly this environment. Nowhere else does an Apexx Akita look more alive than in the snow. Four Apexx dogs, one snowfall, one very happy pack.

Kennel Life & Family

A serious breeding program is not photo shoots and show ribbons. It is puppies waking up, being handled from birth, learning their environment before their new families ever meet them. It is Prosha, our Winter 2026 sire, integrated into daily family life so his temperament is a lived reality rather than a documented claim. These are the moments between the championship credentials.
